| An experimental narrative, The Son of Samsonite uses several text streams to bombard the viewer with multiple narrative possibilities. A series of extended images (a man with a bundle of dynamite on his head, a figure lying in a bed of snow amongst suitcases, a couple embracing in a bathtub full of ice) reinforce the themes of destruction found in the texts. Composed of memories of other images (often cinematic), The Son of Samsonite is filled with irony and black humor, puns and pop songs, and a troubled relationship that unfolds amongst disasters. | ||||
